SOLO BFA SCULPTURE EXHIBITION
Life is a puzzle. As we move through it we’re given our pieces—fragments of experiences, people, struggles, and curiosities—that we learn to situate. We don’t get all the pieces at once or see the full picture until the end. Meanwhile, we’re constantly growing and evolving, shaped by the circumstances we find ourselves in.
Connections explores the invisible threads that link us to different moments in our lives. These threads ground us in our past, root us in the present, and reach toward the future. They guide us through uncertainty and hold us together when things fall apart.
Each piece represents a specific moment in my life: a challenge I faced, a relationship, a shift in thinking. They also reflect where I want to go. This body of work is the culmination of my BFA experience. Every piece was made over the last two years and marks a step in my personal and creative journey.
Though the works explore different ideas, they are all rooted in physical, emotional, or conceptual connections. They are puzzle pieces I’ve collected and arranged, not to complete the picture, but to understand it more deeply. My practice often begins with fragmentation: a feeling I can’t name, a thought I can’t quite hold. Through making, I take those pieces—raw and unresolved—and shape them into something tangible.
In this way, Connections is both the process and the product. It’s a space where uncertainty is allowed, where meaning is something we build, not something we find. It’s my way of asking questions, of reaching toward others, and of recognizing that even when life feels scattered, there is something quietly holding it all together.
