I Think It's Their Fault, 2024
I Think It's Their Fault challenges how women are too often labeled "crazy". The warped Raggedy Anne doll face sits in tandem with carved-out spaces revealing three phrases when lit: "Am I Crazy," "I Am Crazy," and "I Think It's Their Fault."
The piece reflects how women internalize accusations of being "too much" or "too sensitive" when simply responding to mistreatment. Like a doll expected to conform to others' handling, women are manipulated, then blamed for their natural reactions.
By transforming a childhood symbol of feminine docility into a voice that questions its accusers, this work rejects the pattern of silenced female anger and reclaims control from those who dismiss women's emotions as "crazy”.
